The Tise team counts around 100 people, with around 30 engineers in Oslo across Backend, Data & Machine Learning, Web, iOS, and Android – and plans to grow.

We’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to help us build high-performing teams and support our engineers as we continue to scale our product and tech organization 🚀

About the role

As an Engineering Manager at Tise, your primary focus is people and process — enabling engineers to do their best work while ensuring teams collaborate effectively and sustainably.

You’ll lead and support a team of engineers in Oslo working in cross-functional product teams alongside Product Managers, Product Designers, and Tech Leads. Your role is to create the conditions for teams to thrive: coaching individuals, improving ways of working, and ensuring alignment across engineering and product.

What you’ll do

🌱 People development

• Support engineers in their career growth, learning, and professional development.

• Run regular 1:1s, feedback cycles, and performance reviews.

• Help engineers navigate challenges and grow their impact within the organization.

• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive team culture.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Team health and ways of working

• Ensure teams have healthy processes and sustainable workloads.

• Coach teams on effective collaboration, communication, and agile ways of working.

• Identify and remove organizational friction that slows down teams.

• Help maintain high retention and a strong engineering culture.

🎯 Strategic alignment

• Partner with Product Managers and Tech Leads to align team capacity with roadmap priorities.

• Contribute to hiring strategy and team growth planning.

• Help balance delivery, technical quality, and long-term sustainability.

• Work across teams and departments to ensure alignment on priorities.

🤝 Collaboration across engineering leadership

• Work closely with Tech Leads to ensure teams have the technical support needed to succeed.

• Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and team structure with the CTO and other EMs as the engineering organization evolves.

We’re looking for someone who

• Has experience leading or managing software engineers, ideally in product teams.

• Is passionate about people development, mentorship, and coaching.

• Has a strong understanding of modern software development practices.

• Communicates clearly and builds strong relationships across engineering, product, and design.

• Enjoys improving team processes and collaboration.

• Balances delivery, team well-being, and long-term technical health.

• Is fluent in English, both written and spoken.
